This tshirt is one of those items. I love the coral print and modest neckline, but I have a hard time styling it in a way that doesn't look old/ matronly. A high waisted denim pencil skirt may not have been the best idea if I was trying not to look matronly, but it was Friday and I love this skirt! I think this shirt is going to be staying a little longer. I can see it working well with a cardigan and skinny jeans or slacks for fall.
T Shirt: Target last year (solid colors still available)
Denim Pencil Skirt: Forever 21+ last summer
Belt: H&M
Shoes: Payless
Earrings: So Good
Bracelets: assorted
Good luck on Friday, so exciting for you! I love this tee. I think you can wear it with fun colored shorts/jeans and then wear a denim jacket over it. I also agree with what you were thinking, it'll look so cute with a cardi and jeans for Fall!

I think the color is very pretty and flattering on you. I don't see anything matronly about this outfit. I think it looks fresh and young.
ReplyDeleteI like the t-shirt- and I always have a similar problem when styling them!
ReplyDeleteI hate moving, so have fun with that! :)
Ugh me too. Twice in one month is going to be the worst!
DeleteThat's so exciting you guys are moving in together!! Good Luck with the move! Loving this shirt on you. Such a pretty color :)

I think the denim pencil skirt kept the shirt from looking matronly, but I know what you mean! (I need to finish purging my closet.) I think there's a lot that this shirt could be paired with, maybe a bright colored skirt, or some pattern mixing? (Really like it with the denim skirt, it looks very classic and american, a jean skirt all grown up!)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the suggestions:)
DeleteOh! I love this shirt as well. I think it looks awesome on you paired with the skirt. I think it would look super cute too if you belted it with a leopard print belt (I have been obsessed with mine!) AH! And congrats on moving in with each other! Those little prickle hairs from shaving are a pain though...

Ha ha. I keep telling him how much I hate cleaning up hair in hopes that he keeps that to a minimum. I've had male roommates in the past so I feel prepared.
DeleteI think you can style the shirt in a bunch of different ways. I picture it with a brightly colored pair of shorts or pencil skirt (hot pink, cobalt, mint would work nicely with it). :)

Thanks for the suggestions!
DeleteHow exciting that you two will be living together! Big milestone :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the color of this top on you, but I can see how it would be hard to style. I like the idea of wearing it with skinnies and a cardigan for fall - sounds really cute! I would give it one more try before getting rid of it.
That's so awesome and exciting that you are moving in together - good luck with the move! Love that top - such a pretty color. And in response to your Mystic question - we went to Jonathan Edwards Winery, and you also need to check out The Oyster Club for dinner - it was sooo good: http://www.oysterclubct.com/

I think that's a cute top and doesn't look matronly at all, Tashia. But I do understand the need to purge the closet (just did today, actually). Greetings from Atlanta! ;-)
