Settling In

I am finally done with my fourth move in a little over three years. Thursday I spent packing. Friday I packed and cleaned and we loaded the truck. Saturday we got our keys, unloaded the truck, went to Target to get some household essentials, and assembled our bed frame. Sunday was spent unpacking, moving furniture around, and figuring out how in the hell we were going to fit all of my clothes and shoes into our dresser and closet space. I have accomplished so much over the past 5 days, but I am so glad it's over! I missed blogging!

Monday I finally got to take a break from all the moving madness and get dressed in something other than my moving uniform of shorts or work out leggings and a tank top. It was really nice to put on makeup and a pretty dress after a few days of consistently being a grimy mess.

I spent most of the day in hanging out in Somerville's Davis Square. I went there for lunch with my friend Kelly and to sell some clothes at Buffalo Exchange. In the evening I decided to take my tripod for a spin in the adorable Ramier Park, which is just steps from my new apartment. It was really busy at 5pm on a holiday Monday and I'll admit that I felt a little uncomfortable taking pictures with a bunch of people around. One older gentleman offered to take a picture for me. I thanked him and explained that I am used to using a tripod because I take a lot of pictures for my blog. I think he was from the elder living community that borders the park and didn't exactly understand what a blog is, but he was nice none the less.

Outfit: Dress- H&M; Red Belt- H&M; Flats- Payless

It is is a great park for lounging on a bench to read and enjoy the flowers. Of course I'm just hoping it will be an empty park with good lighting for taking outfit pictures in at 8am on weekday mornings.

  5. Whew, four moves in three years, that makes me tried just thinking about it! I hate the packing and unpacking part of moving, but it is always excitig get to explore a new place. This little park looks like such fun and you are so brave for going out an taking pictures when it was so busy! (I've gotten to be such a chicken, I've been trying to find picture-taking place where I can hide from people. It's sad. :P )
Hurray for being able to wear apretty dress, it's so nice to be able to put something cute on after being busy and grimy. (And this dress is one of my favorite of yours, I really like the cut of the dress and the soft polka dots.) Congradulations on your new move, I hope you and your bf are enjoying the new place. :)
PS- great to see you around again! I missed you!

I meant "tired." One of these days I'll type a comment that makes sense.

  7. Oh, I hate moving! It's just the worst so I can imagine how happy you are to be done.

You look fabulous in the polka dots and I love the pop of color at the waist. And good for you taking the tripod out in public!
