Reality: Football

I don't really get into sports. Mike loves sports, especially football and baseball. This year he is participating in not one, but four fantasy leagues. As a result, he monopolizes the television all day on Sunday. I'm not exaggerating! He had football or football related programming on TV from abut 8:30 in the morning, when we got up until 11 at night when the last game was over. As someone who finds football to be about as entertaining as watching paint dry, I knew I needed to get out of the house for most of the day. Thankfully, my friend Kelly recently relocated to Boston and was available for brunch!

A maxi dress and cardigan combo are perfect for a cool late summer outdoor brunch. Afterwards we went to a few stores, and I managed to stay out of the house for a full 5 hours of football!

Outfit: Dress- Calvin Klein via Marshalls; cardigan- Old Navy; sandals- Payless; Sunnies- thrifted; necklace- gifted.
Now I just need to figure out what to do to get out of the house next Sunday!

  2. LOL our boyfriends would be BFFs. Except I join him... ha-ha you aren't getting me away from the TV during Sundays. I should try to convert you... ;) This dress looks so nice on you btw! I also love your bun!

    1. Convert me? ha ha. Many have tried, none have succeeded. I really do want to enjoy it but it's so freaking boring to me!

  3. Four fantasy leagues?!? I am annoyed enough by Curtis's college football obsession and his one fantasy league- I am a football widow Saturday AND Sunday. But I warned him before we got married, that I would go shopping while he was glued to the TV... He was warned. :)

    1. Ha ha. Four is ridiculous right? Especially since he's a full time student+ works a little bit. I don't know how he manages it all!

  4. That maxi is so gorgeous on you! I'm pretty lucky...I happened to marry a guy who could care less about watching sports. (His passion is motorcycles and cars). The only time we ever watch football is the Superbowl :)

  5. This is a really pretty maxi dress. I have mixed feelings about maxis; I like them on everyone else, but not on me. You wear it well!

    1. It took me a while to find one that I love, and now I want to wear it every day. The other one I have I'm admittedly not as wild about.

  6. You look super cute in this maxi dress! Now that my husband has somehow convinced me to join a league with him (which I'm kicking butt in, by the way), I now have to watch football with him. But I'm sure I will be bored of it soon... this is why we have 2 TVs. And it's also a great opportunity to catch up on my crafts and shopping. Haha. :)

    1. Glad you're winning! I wish we had two tvs! Although it'd be really silly since our apartment is so small.

    1. Thanks! I'm so not ready to retire this dress for the season, so I'm going to keep finding weather appropriate uses for it.

  9. Wow, I love this outfit! That striped maxi is amazing, it looks great on you and it looks really versatile. (And what fantastic photos, I love all of these places in the park, it looks like a really cool place to explore.)

Ugh, I am not a huge fan of football. It's fun to play, but unless it's a really amazing game, I end up falling asleep. But I'm pretty bad that way, I like playing sports, but I don't really enjoy watching that many of them. Or the ones that I do like to watch, like the figure skating or the show jumping, everyone makes fun of me for watching them. (Mostly the figure skating. Apparently it's not cool to watch that. Or Irish jigging. But I can't give up either of them!)
