Violators will be Towed

Now that the weather is getting warmer, I've been experimenting with new locations for photos.

When the Red Sox have a home game, it can be a challenge to find a place that isn't crawling with people. But when the Sox are away, there are empty parking lots everywhere!

Who doesn't love prancing around a sketchy parking, dancing in front of a tripod lot like a weirdo? That's what blogging is all about right? Well it's all fun and games until you realize that said parking lot is on your boss's walk home...

Outfit: Dress- H&M; Cardigan- Gap Outlet; Shoes- Payless; Shades- F21;
So my boss looked at me like I had three heads, and I shrugged it off. If you can't be a little goofy, what's the point?

Date Night- A Little bit Country

Mike and I have fallen into a routine of going out for dinner at least once a week. I think it's important to spend time together outside of our apartment, and it's nice to let someone else do the cooking. Friday we stayed in and enjoyed a game night of sorts (I agreed to play Wii with Mike in exchange for him playing cards with me). We also had yummy pork roast and beer.

Saturday Mike had a ton of homework to do, but we went out for dinner anyways. Since I had plenty of time to get ready, I decided to do something I almost never do- curl my hair.

We headed to Brookline Village with the intention of getting some Japanese or Latin food. Due to long lines and restaurants that didn't look like what expected from the Yelp reviews, we ended up at Village Smokehouse, a Texas style barbecue restaurant.

Outfit: Dress- Dorothy Perkins; Jacket- JCrew (thrifted); Boots- Madden Girl

I loved it. The food was delicious, and it felt like Texas. The whole date just felt a little bit country, in a good way! I don't know if it was the curls, or the combination of boots, an A-line dress and a denim jacket. Maybe it was the fact that I had watched the first episode of Nashville earlier that day, or maybe it was just the country music and barbecue.

Fall Can Wait

I am not one of those bloggers that can't wait for fall. I love sweaters, boots and scarves as much as the next girl, but I also love sunshine and being able to leave the house without a jacket. In fact, Boston has been having my favorite kind of weather for the past few days. Breezy and sunny with highs in the high 70s/ low 80s and lows in the 60s. I've been taking advantage of the weather by wearing some of my summer favorites that just don't work on the really hot days. Because of its long sleeves, this dress is one of those items.

Coral is kind of my favorite color to wear right now. I loved coral and leopard together in this outfit, so I decided to wear my new flats from Target. They're so comfortable and cheap (on sale for $14!) that I might have to go back and buy them in another color. One warning- they run a bit small so go a half size up.

Fall can wait because I really want to keep wearing sandals, breezy dresses, and denim shorts:)

Stripes and Coral

After months of searching, I've finally found a maxi dress! I am in love, and I want to wear it every day! I wore it Friday for work and date night.

I originally tried on this Calvin Klein dress in light blue stripes a few weeks ago at Marshall's and I loved it, but the pastel blue and white made it feel a bit like a night gown. Color- wise I also wasn't sure how I would style it. I saw the same style in black and white and instantly fell in love with it. Unfortunately it wasn't available in my size, so I left empty handed. Fast forward a few weeks and I found it in black and white at a TJMaxx on the other side of town! Shopping victory!

I took these pictures with my trusty tripod behind my apartment building Friday morning. I really need to get my butt out of bed early enough to venture downstairs more often, because I'm really pleased with how these turned out. It's amazing what a little natural light can do!
