Strike a Pose

I am so happy it is Friday. I thought this week would never end. Does anyone else feel like the short weeks are the longest ones?  I feel like I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to veg out, so I am making it a point to veg out this weekend. I'm also making it a point to do laundry, because I'm nearing the bottom of my very deep barrel of clothing, hence this very lackluster look.

I was looking back at my outfit posts for the last month or two and I've noticed that I'm posed the same way in most of my outfit photos. I assure you it's not for lack of trying different positions! I am just really bad/ awkward at posing.

I took a break from the dresses and skirts to wear some pants. In my head this outfit looked a little more nautical and a little less frumpy. I think I need to invest in some higher quality straight leg pants for work since I'm no longer interested in wearing my collection of semi-expensive wide leg trousers.

Outfit:
Shirt: Old Navy
Pants: Target
Flats: Old Navy
Earrings: Gift
Belt: thrifted

What are your plans for the weekend?

  2. My husband hates having Mondays off. He says that four day weeks that start on Tuesday seem just as long as a regular week (but a Monday-Thursday 4 day week is great). It's psychological.
I totally see nautical in this outfit - the colors, the stripes, the braided, kind of rope like belt. Switching up the flats for flip flops or Topsiders and adding a nautical necklace might kick it up a notch :) I <3 nautical.

  4. Selah- I agree so much. If you don't have a Monday in your work week, then Tuesday becomes your Monday, and it's AWFUL!

Wide-leg is still really in... don't get rid of them (unless you want togive them to me)

    Have a great weekend!

  6. Short weeks always feel long for me too. It drives me crazy!

Also, I always, always, always pose the same. It's kind of hilarious, actually. But, I figure I'm not a model and I don't think anyone is coming to my blog for the posing.

Love the striped tee with the gray pants.

    Have a great weekend!

  7. I hear ya: I need to invest in more pants too. I've been looking online, but I hate shopping online for pants since I obviously cannot try them on first. Guess I'll have to go real-life shopping, eh?

Anyway, this is such a cute nautical-ish outfit. You'd make a cute sailor!

  11. I think I do all of the same poses as well. I didn't notice that you do the same poses, so don't even worry about it! I am 100% awkward behind the camera all the time!

  12. Hah! I do awkward poses all the time, so I think youre doing pretty fantastic! (Plus, its always easy to study your outfits in your photos, you do a great good of photographing them and you always look so cute and smile!) Hurray for slim cut pants, I am a huge fan of those, they just feel so much easier to style than wide legs ones. (that could just be me however!) such a cute look, between the gray pants and that cute striped shirt, such a easy look. :)

  13. I'm so glad I found your blog! I am a short and "hippy" gal. I have been reluctant to wear the lovely, colorful ankle pants that I recently purchase, but seeing you in slimmer ankle pants has encourage me! I think you look great in them. I'm going to give it a try...get brave and post a few pics!
