Insta-Birthday Weekend-gram

This was a big birthday weekend for me! Yesterday was my birthday, and Friday was Mike's birthday. Unfortunately Mike is in the middle of law school finals so we had to keep the celebrations pretty low key. Regardless we had a great weekend including dinner and a movie Friday, some much needed lady time for me on Sunday (brunch and shopping!), sushi, desserts, and presents.

Here are some pictures from the weekend. (Did I mention I am on instagram now?)

I gave myself a pretty awesome funfetti cake inspired manicure.

The city is totally in bloom right now. Clearly just for my birthday.

Outfit: Dress- Cynthia Rowley via Marshalls; Flats- ? via Marshalls; Jacket- Jcrew thrifted; Scarf - H&M; Shades- F21

Myles kitty decided to be super adorable just for me.

Fancy birthday cake and ice-cream after a delicious sushi dinner.
The birthday celebrations are going to continue after Mike's finals are over. I got him NY Mets tickets for our trip to NY Memorial Day weekend, and he got me a weekend getaway to a bed and breakfast in Cape Cod.

Holiday Wishlist Part 2: Stocking Stuffers

I apologize for doing so many wishlist posts lately, and not so many outfit posts. Sometimes life gets in the way of taking pictures, and I'm learning to be okay with it.

A few weeks ago I shared a few of the items on my holiday wishlist. This week I thought I'd share some of the items I'd love to find in my stocking Christmas morning.

This adorable Stocking. Y'all know how I feel about polka dots!

Stila Major Lash Mascara- This is my go-to mascara. It doesn't clump, has a tiny applicator brush, and it's under $10!

A Tea Ball for brewing loose leaf teas.

Some Smashbox Mega Tint lipcolor in a peachy tint for every day wear. I love, love, love smashbox lip glosses, so I've been wanting to try this.

This sparkly Rose Gold Colored Ring from Dorothy Perkins is also under $10!

For my at home manicures I'd love some Ridge Smoothing Base Coat by Essie and these beautiful lacy Sally Hansen Salon Effects.

... and lots of chocolate!

What stocking stuffers do you have your eye on?

Sunday: Food Trucks and Glitter

Sunday it was nice and cool out so I finally got to wear my thrifted chambray shirt dress. I met my friend Kelly at the SoWa market. Although I love looking at the crafts and vintage stuff, the food trucks are my favorite part of SoWa. I had some delicious lobster mac and cheese from the Lobsta Love food truck and an amazing samoa cupcake from the Cupcakory truck. I might also be watching the great food truck race as I write this...

Outfit: chambray shirt dress- thrifted via Buffalo Exchange; belt- H&M; shoes and leggings- Target;

After SoWa Kelly and I chatted and gave ourselves manicures on her back porch. I found some really awesome chocolaty/ bronze colored glitter polish at CVS. I'm kind of obsessed with glittery nail polish right now. It is awesome because I am really bad at painting my own nails. With glitter polish you can't see all of my crazy mistakes!

I guess you might say being closer to 30 than 20 makes me too old for glitter polish, but I don't care!
