Spring in My Step

I almost titled this post LBD with a side of frog legs, but I didn't want to box myself into only talking about my outfit.

Outfit: Dress- NY&Co. similar at Old Navy; Scarf and tights- H&M; Shoes- Target
I've got a lot of spring in my step these days, and it's not just from finding the perfect shade of emerald tights to match my emerald ballet flats purchased on super clearance at Target ($6ish in stores, y'all!). After a few weeks of being extremely busy, and anxious, the stress cloud I was sitting in has dissipated. I start a new job in less than two weeks!

I've been unhappy at my current job for quite a while. I don't want to divulge a whole lot of detail because I pride myself on keeping my professional life separate from my personal life/ blog life. Long story short, I decided to start looking back in September, but after being told I was overqualified for a job I thought for sure I had landed back in October I was feeling really discouraged. Recruitment is a major part of my job, but I had forgotten how stressful it is to be on the other side of things!

When job searching patience is definitely a virtue. Lots of carefully crafted cover-letters a few less than stellar phone interviews, and some heart break finally led to a job that is the perfect next step in building my career in nonprofit human resources/ administration.


The best part? I'll be able to walk to work! I'll get one and a half to two hours of my day back. That means more time for blogging, going to the gym, snuggling with my cat, or whatever.

...Oh, and more money for shopping!

    Congrats on the new job! I am so jealous of the "walking to work" thing- that would be so awesome!

    Congrats and best of luck! I have recently begun to put the feelers out myself. There are some big things irking me and it's only a matter of time before I am going to explode. I am hoping that positive change is afoot for all who need it in the world of work.

      Absolutely. It sucks to be unhappy in your job, especially since most of us spend more time at work than at home.

    Yay, congrats on your new job! I'm glad all your hard work paid off. I'm sure you will be awesome at this new company. Walking to work is so fabulous, oh my gosh, I am so jealous just thinking about how you don't have to deal with traffic anymore!

    Wow, congratulations on your new job, it sounds like it's going to be really exciting for you and I'm just so happy for you! (I noticed that you'd seemed down the past couple months, I'm happy that you've gotten this great new opportunity.) I always hate the interview part of finding a new job, it always feel so awkward! That such a bummer about the other one but at least being over qualified is a little ego boasting. I hope you just have an amazing time at this new job and I'm so happy for you! (Plus, how nice to get back a few more hours in your day.)

    And mmm, emerald tights! Those are pretty fantastic!

    Congrats on the new job! I totally know what its like to want to leave your job but cant just yet. Im glad you stuck in there and the job you wanted came through.

    Love, love, love the tights! I had promised to wear more colored tights this winter and so far Im doing a bad job! Youve inspired me to get up and get some color on these legs! :)
