I would have liked to celebrate my blogversary with a fancy new camera, but that wasn't in the budget. Instead, I treated myself to
a new tripod that is small enough to fit in my purse. I had high hopes that I'd be able to rig it up in my office and take some indoor outfit pictures. My office has great natural lighting, but not a lot of space so the pictures didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped.
They kind of remind me of the early days of taking blog pictures in my bedroom.
In my defense it has been beyond frigid in Boston this week. The thought of taking off my coat (and hat, gloves, scarf, legwarmers, two pairs of socks...) for pictures is just too much to bear. Taking fuzzy pictures in a fuzzy sweater will just have to do for now.
I love the black and mint together, you look so pretty! I missed seeing your pretty face! :)

I missed posting pictures! Hopefully there will be plenty more where that came from!
DeleteThe color of your top is so pretty! I don't blame you for taking indoor photos. It's so cold I can barely be outside, let alone stand and pose for photos!

It's been so cold it hurts to be outside! So thankful to be able to spend lots of time under the covers this weekend:)
DeleteThat top is just gorgeous on you. And I don't blame you for taking photos inside; I hate being cold too!
ReplyDeleteBeing cold is the worst. I turn into such a lazy hermit!
DeleteA tripod that fits in your purse?! Awesome! Love that color on you :) Hope you're staying warm, and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteRight? Unfortunately it's small and has to stand on another surface or be wrapped around something, but I'll take what I can get!
DeleteLove the mint sweater, and that skirt is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteDo remember to be careful with super light tripods, you wouldn't want your camera to take a tumble. (been there, and it cost me two weeks sans camera and $300)
Chic on the Cheap
Thanks for the tip! I have a cheap little kodak easy share right now that is virtually indestructible. I'm hoping to seriously upgrade soon though, so I'll have to be super careful with the new tripod after that!
DeleteYou can never go wrong with boots and a skirt!!

I agree. I practically love in boots, tights and dresses or skirts all winter!
DeleteI love the shape of that skirt- so flattering, and the fuzzy green sweater? Ummm, I need one of those prono!
ReplyDeleteI may or may not own that exact sweater in another color. The skirt was a great clearance rack find.
Deletei think these pictures turned out just fine, tashia! that blue/green color is looks really good on you and your skirt is flattering too. okay, i just glanced at a few other comments and realized a few people said the same thing - we must all be thinking alike!
ReplyDeleteIt is a great skirt. One of those clearance rack finds that I'm so glad I talked myself into buying.
DeleteBoston sounds cold even if I've never been. But I am sure, under all those coats and covers Boston girls must be stylish like you are! Looking well put together, dear!

ha ha, I've definitely learned the value of a stylish coat collection since moving here!
DeleteUgh, I' with you, some days the thought of going outside and losing the coat is just very unappealing. :P
ReplyDeleteYour office does have great lighting though so that seems to be a win! I love your skirt, the high waistband with the flared skirt is stunning on you and the combination of the minty green sweater and the black is so striking. (That silver necklace is gorgeous! It brights up the whole look!)
Thanks Katie. I feel like such a wimp, when you take photos outside all the time. I blame the fact that I grew up in the south.
DeleteI love this outfit on you!! You look amazing and the color of your sweater is gorgeous.

ReplyDeletethey are not fuzzy, and you look gorgeous! i love this color on you!
ReplyDeletehaha, everyone is running to take indoor pictures because of the cooold! I can't say I can relate, though, because it's 60 degrees here. It will get colder though, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI love how from your skirt down it's all black. So sleek!
It is tough taking pictures with a tripod. But I think your pics turned out well. I love this look for work... and the color of the sweater looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteLovely look!! ^^
