The other big motivator for getting up earlier? My day light hours are fading. Since coastal Massachusetts is about as far east as you can get on the eastern seaboard, it gets dark here REALLY early in the winter. We're talking 4:30pm early. I have no choice. I'm going to have to either get up early and take my pictures in the morning, or start bringing my tripod to my office.
Outfit: Skirt- Old Navy; Blouse- Target; Flats- Old Navy (old); Cardigan- Old Navy (old) |
These pictures were taken around 6:20 in the evening. I this is the earliest I can get home to take pictures after work and the light was definitely low. I better become a morning person really fast!
UG. One of the bad things about winter is that lack of light! Its like you go to work when its dark and you come home when its dark. BLAH. Do you at least start at 9:00? We start at 8:00 in our office... which is still dark when I leave the house! Womp Womp... anyway... I love this skirt on you! :) Its so cute... I want to go to old navy and get that!

Fortunately I don't have to be in until 9:30 most days. The skirt really is great. Stretchy and in lots of cute colors. I kind of want to go back and grab the green one.
DeleteIts hard to make the shift from being a night person to being a morning person. Good for you for making strides. I'm going to give it a try myself.
ReplyDeleteAll I can do is try, right?
DeleteI HATE when it gets dark so early! I'm dreading the winter! That is awesome that you've been going to the gym before work. I don't know how people do that :)
ReplyDeleteI love how the leopard looks with the mustard skirt!

Thanks Sharon!
DeleteI love your mustard colored skirt, it's so cute on you. And I too, hate that it gets dark early. The worst is in the winter when you go to work and it's dark... and you come home from work and it's dark.

Luckily I don't have to be at work until 9:30, so I get sunshine in the mornings. (That's why I'm really trying to get up earlier!)
DeleteTotally blogging my mustard skirt tomorrow :) I love it with the animal print, and I am already dreading early sunsets! They are the worst!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds, lady:) Everytime I buy something at Old Navy now I wonder if you've purchased it too!
DeleteUgh, the dark coming so early is one of my least favorite things about winter. Back when I worked retail, I leave the house when it was dark and get home when it was dark, it felt like I never saw the sunlight! :P Kudos for becoming such a morning person, it sticks trying to get into the habit but its actually kind of awesome once you're use to it. (You always look way better than I do in the morning though, all cute with no bleary eyes!)
ReplyDeleteI love this. Straight up love it. Argh, you're all making me lust so much over all of the lovely mustard and burgundy colored garments! This yellow skirt is so wearable, I love it with the leopard print blouse. It's funny how leopard print takes on different personalities depending upon what color its worn with. Red can look vampy and sexy while the yellow makes it look very cozy and fall-ish. And the metallic flats were genius, they are so unexpected!
This leopard is really cool because it's made of shades of navy, maroon and mustard. Perfect for fall! Unfortunately, those metallic flats are getting super smelly so I think that might be their last appearance.
DeleteI wish I was a morning person! I love your mustard skirt with the leopard!

Chic on the Cheap
So challenging! These are the only ones I got this week :(
DeleteLove that skirt! So cute! How awesome that you've been working out in the morning. It's definitely a great jump start to the day, and you can get your workout out of the way quickly. I work at 5am so working out before work is definitely not an option :D
ReplyDeleteI haven't quite gotten into a routine with it yet, but I'm trying! It really helps that it's only two blocks away.
DeleteI was JUST saying that I want a mustard skirt, and now here you are rocking one! Love it.

My doctor is trying to get me to work out in the morning. I refuse. I'm so not a morning person. Which is why I actually do take my photos at work. I can't get up early for anything.
ReplyDeleteLove your mustard pencil skirt. I adore mustard for fall and this outfit is fabulous!
